IGF-1 LR3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 Long $R_3$) is a synthetic, long-acting analog of human IGF-1. It consists of the native 70-amino acid IGF-1 sequence modified with an 13-amino acid N-terminal extension and a substitution of Glutamic acid (Glu) with Arginine (Arg) at position 3.
This specific structural modification prevents IGF-1 LR3 from binding to IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs) in the bloodstream. As a result, its active biological half-life is extended from approximately 20–30 minutes (native IGF-1) to 20–30 hours, allowing for continuous systemic signaling, cell proliferation, and nutrient partitioning.
Key Benefits & Applications
-
Hyperplasia & Myogenesis: Promotes muscle fiber splitting (hyperplasia) and the activation/proliferation of satellite cells, leading to new muscle cell creation rather than just cell enlargement (hypertrophy).
-
Enhanced Nutrient Partitioning: Directs amino acids, glucose, and key nutrients straight into skeletal muscle tissue rather than storing them in adipose tissue.
-
Accelerated Tissue & Joint Repair: Strongly stimulates collagen synthesis, bone density, and tendon/ligament tissue regeneration.
-
Fat Loss Acceleration: Enhances lipolysis by promoting fatty acid oxidation as a primary energy source.
-
Extended Systemic Half-Life: Long circulation time enables convenient once-daily or post-workout dosing without rapid clearance.
