IGF-1 DES (Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Des[1-3]) is a truncated, truncated-sequence analog of human IGF-1. By removing the first three amino acids (Tripeptide Gly-Pro-Glu) from the N-terminus of the native 70-amino acid protein, IGF-1 DES becomes a short-acting, hyper-localized version of IGF-1.
This truncation reduces its binding affinity to circulatory IGF-Binding Proteins (IGFBPs) by up to 10-fold compared to native IGF-1. While its systemic half-life is brief (approx. 20–30 minutes), its local binding affinity to tissue IGF receptors is estimated to be 10 times more potent than standard IGF-1, making it exceptionally effective for targeted, site-specific muscular hypertrophy and immediate post-workout recovery.
Key Benefits & Applications
-
Localized Muscle Hypertrophy: Extremely high potency at the target injection site encourages immediate, localized muscle cell enlargement and severe pumps.
-
Satellite Cell Activation (Hyperplasia): Accelerates muscle satellite cell proliferation and differentiation, converting dormant stem cells into functional muscle fibers.
-
Lactic Acid / Acidic Environment Stability: Unlike native IGF-1 or IGF-1 LR3, IGF-1 DES remains stable and biologically active in acidic, lactate-filled environments (such as muscle tissue during/after intense training).
-
Minimal Systemic Organ Interaction: Due to its short half-life and rapid tissue binding, it quickly degrades in circulation, minimizing systemic exposure to non-target internal organs.
-
Rapid Nutrient Shunting: Rapidly pulls glucose and amino acids directly into recently trained muscle cells to initiate immediate recovery and glycogen replenishment.
