Mastoral is a well-known underground pharmaceutical brand name (manufactured by Alpha-Pharma) for methyl-drostanolone, better known chemically and in bodybuilding circles as Methasterone or Superdrol.
It is an extremely potent 17$\alpha$-alkylated oral anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) structurally derived from drostanolone (Masteron). Mastoral is widely considered one of the strongest—and most toxic—oral anabolic steroids ever produced.
Description
Mastoral was developed as a methylated, orally active form of drostanolone. The addition of a 17$\alpha$-methyl group allows it to pass through the liver without being broken down immediately, making it exceptionally powerful in small doses.
-
Active Compound: Methasterone / Methyl-drostanolone
-
Form: Oral tablets (typically 10 mg per tablet)
-
Class: Synthetic Oral Anabolic-Androgenic Steroid (DHT derivative)
-
Mechanism: Binds aggressively to androgen receptors to dramatically increase muscle nitrogen retention and protein synthesis while remaining completely immune to aromatization (conversion to estrogen).
Medical Status & Uses
-
No Widespread Human Approval: Methasterone was synthesized in the 1950s but was never officially approved or commercialized as a prescription medical drug in the United States or Western markets due to its extreme toxicity profile.
-
Limited Indications: While listed by some underground/generic pharmaceutical entities for terminal or post-menopausal conditions (e.g., severe breast cancer care), it has no active, mainstream clinical medical applications today.
